The 8th edition of the Big Talent, Small Works Annual Sales Exhibition is on view at @blackmoth_tattoo in Ardmore! Featuring over twenty artists, 10% of all proceeds will go to the Bread and Roses Community Fund. The show will be on view through December.

One of the perks of living in the Brandywine Valley is how close it is to, well, everything. Cities, mountains, beaches, all within a simple drive. A short trip can take you from rolling farms through busy suburbs straight into the bustling city. Those scenes have inspired Urbs/Suburbs, a new exhibition from artist Pia De Girolamo at @cerulean.arts in Philadelphia.

Art reveals many truths which lie within the artist as well as the viewer. The new show at @colonna_contemporary, The Inner Landscape, celebrates the work of Justin Snow, an artist whose work has evolved over his decades of painting. As he approaches the age of 90, these ten paintings are both deeply personal and explosively interactive. The large scale of the pieces take over the gallery in a riot of color, using textural thick brushstrokes to create a passionate, emotional display.

Finding inspiration in new techniques and mediums is the constant joy of art. Jill Beech explores the limits of space, light, and unique materials, especially in her sculptural joomchi pieces.

Joomchi originated in Korea and is a method of processing Hanji paper made from the inner bark of Dak—the mulberry tree) which has various uses due to its strength and texture. Beech uses it to make sculptures and multi-layered wall hangings, including tornado shrouds made from paper painted in multiple layers, twisted, adhered to itself, and “bound” with rope.

See these pieces along with others in various mediums and learn more about the techniques at Beech's Open Studios on this Saturday, Dec. 8th and next Saturday, Dec. 14th from 10 am to 4:30 pm at 6 Park Avenue, Coatesville/East Fallowfield.
